First of all thanks Jyoti, Sandeep and shruti to comment something in the group.... its great to know that u have read the poem somewhere and your respect towards the meaning is simply remarkable... because thats what author is looking forward to....
I agree this group may be not tat active since quite period of time... but nothing is impossible... and ya its never late to begin so we can give in our efforts....
my association with the poem is long back when during my school days this poem was our school pledge which gave in lot of confidence... plus it was also a chapter in our school curriculum...

Hi, Shruti and Sandeep, I know that poem well. I used to moderate a Yahoo group dedicated to poetry (now I have moved it to a blog) and I remember posting this poem several times. It's one of those poems that can truly be called profound. And because I liked the poem so much, that's why I gave a big like to the name of the group :)

Hmm, right. Well, I don't think I fear death, though I still fear the act of dying and the pain that may accompany it. I'm terrified of the future, actually. I'm terrified to think what will happen if my dreams don't come true? What if I never make it big as a writer? Becoming a successful writer is the only hope I have of becoming independent. And I'm terrified of the future that lacks this independence.
Another thing that terrifies me is seeing my parents get old. Really scary :(
